Land Acknowledgement
The various members of this coalition respectfully acknowledge that we live on the traditional, ancestral. and unceded lands of the following nations: xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Kwikwetlem, Katzie, Kwantlen, and Matsqui and Sema:th (Sumas) of Stó:lō nation. We thank the elders who have preserved these beautiful lands of mountains, rivers and lakes.
We recognize the responsibility of all those who live as occupiers on these lands to support and centre the work of those who have cared for the land since time immemorial.

"Roots, Rhythms, Resistance," a three-day symposium organized by WC_CARS in May 2022 brought together scholars, artists, activists, musicians, and community workers to explore, examine, and discuss topical issues such as food sovereignty, labour justice, and racism in health care. At three different venues, community members attended and participated--in-person and online--making Roots, Rhythms, Resistance a successful event.
